3 Easy Ways to Use Dry Shampoo

Hello Friends & Beauty Addicts,

Over the last few years, dry shampoo has become a must-have in every girls bathroom cupboard because of how convenient and easy it is to use. But in my line of work, I still often get asked what the purpose of dry shampoo really is. Alot of my customers actually believe that it is a replacement to washing your hair all together. Is this true? Can dry shampoo be used for any other purpose? Well, let's take a look at 3 ways you can use dry shampoo.

1. Replace Washing of Hair

So, yes, you can use this product to replace washing your using the traditional shampoo and conditioner...but I'm not saying what you think. I like to use this products to get through a longer period of time without washing my short gorgeous locks. For instance, washing my hair on Monday and using the dry shampoo on Tuesday and Wednesday, washing again on Thursday. This method is great for people with hair color that likes to fade quick, such as those fire engine red..(been there). This is also great for days when you may not have access to a shower, perhaps whilst camping or hiking. Just spray a bit of this on your roots in sections and let it sit for atleast a minute. Brush or shake hair and your fresh and good to go.

2. To Make Your Hair "Dirty"

Your like, "Okay, Sarah, you just told us to use it make our hair clean". Yes, but this can also be used to add texture to the hair. Ever want to do a french braid but your hair is just too darn slick from a fresh wash? Well, just spray a bit on, brush through and voila! You have a nice grippy surface to start braiding. This is also great for teasing hair for volume or up dos. Just spray it in the section to be teased and attack with your teasing comb. Hit with a shot of hair spray to hold everything in place.

3. Va-Va Volume

Dry shampoo is also great for adding volume to the hair. Something about the powdery consistency of the product almost plumps the hair and gives incredible volume to the hair. I love curls, but my hair is also very thick. Sometimes, I end up with voluptuous curls at the sides but my roots look flat and almost greasy. Spraying a bit of dry shampoo at the root and shaking it all out really adds long lasting volume to the hair. Another great time for volume is to spray some dry shampoo in your hair before bed and plop your hair in a bun. In the morning you are left with volumized roots ready to be styled.
