March 2015 Favorites

Hello my chicken nuggets,

The last few months, not much has changed in my beauty regime. But thankfully, in March, I got my hands on some awesome products that I really want to share. I didn't use a tons of new products some you may or may not see a few old friends in this line up. So, let's go...

             Tarte Tartelette Palette
This has been by far my go-to palette last month. It features 12 neutral matte shades that can go with any skin tone. This palette took me from day to night and made my blue-green eyes pop like nobodies biz.

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation
I got this dewy foundation in 1-2 N for my fair skin, but I will say it turns out a bit dark for me. Other than the fact, I am super happy with this foundation. I love the coverage it gives while keeping my skin fresh and dewy looking.

Hard Candy Blush Crush Blush in Living Doll
I have talked about this blush one too many times, I know, but it is just such a perfect blush for spring. This blue-toned pink gives a gorgeous pink flush with a touch of shimmer. I skipped the highlighter on any days I used this bad boy.

Maybelline Master Precise Drama Eyeliner
This has been my favorite eyeliner pen in the last few years and I always end up back at it even when I try something new. It is super duper precise which makes it super easy to create the perfect cat eye flick.

Duo Lash Adhesive
Last month, was false eyelash month and thanks to this glue, they stayed in place all day. I used the clear which did give a bit of residue so I needed to fill with some eyeliner. Other than that, this glue rocks my socks.

That's it for my March favorites! I hope you enjoyed and let me know in the comments what some of your favorites last month were.

Until next time...

Current Netflix Obsession: Downton Abbey

Good Evening! Hope you are all having a fantastical night. I want to let you all in on a recent guilty pleasure of mine. A little show called Downton Abbey. I am pretty sure I am the last person on the planet to start watching this show and it has already had a full 4 seasons. Anyhow, after hearing nothing but good things about this show and also knowing that it was a period drama, I finally caved and started the series. I have to be honest in saying that I was very surprised that the show is so popular. Not because it is a bad show but rather because it is such a clean show. There is not much cursing/swearing, if any. The sexual content is low and it has nothing to do with vamps. So, why is Downton Abbey so popular and why does it have such a following? Two words, Maggie Smith lol. Yes, this legendary actress has this show by its nuggets. Although her part is meanial, she gives the show the edge it needs. I rarely find myself grinning so much as when something witty slips out of Lady Violets mouth.

Aside from the great Maggie Smith, this show has some pungent story lines, dripping with a ton of drama. But not teenaged drama or whiney drama. It has a dose of more realistic (for the period) drama that is more relatable.

As far as ships go, this show has too many to count. Great chemisry between the actors. By the way, did I mention how amaze these british actors are? Sheerly brilliant! A great cast of actors who fill their characters shoes well.

I am only on season 2 but so far, so good.  I am pleased with the series as a whole. If you like period dramas, then this is for you.

Get on netflix now and watch this show if you have not already.

Suzy Shier Nail Polish Review ♥

Today we are going to talk 'real bargains'! If you know me personally, then you know that I am literally a nail polish junkie. And if you don't know me personally then Im here to tell you, I AM A NAIL POLISH JUNKIE! Being a junkie basically means that you have every color in the rainbow but you still don't have EVER color in the freaking rainbow, you follow? Anyways, I am always on the hunt for the next big color or even just a color that I have never seen before. Whilst shopping with my sister and our best friend Mikayla (SHOUT OUT!) a few weeks back (I mean like 2 month ago lol) at Urban Planet, I saw these two awesome colors of polish in the 'impulse buy' section near the checkout. Ok, so I work in a beauty supply store so I usually don't buy alot of polish outside of my work, let alone a clothing store polish, but I caved because I had been looking for similar colors everywhere. They were only $2.80 before tax, so I thought how could I go wrong? I ended up buying two, a pale green and a fun bright lavender shade. I will be honest in saying that I didn't have very high hopes for these guys. I was expecting a polish that lasted an hour and then chipped off, but boy was I wrong! I really gave this polish a run for it's money. After a day of opening boxes stocking shelves and typing on a register all day, the polish was still in tact! Plus, not only did it last a day, but it lasted 4 days and even still looked great! I took it off mainly to change colors. I do, however, have a few minor complaints about this product.
#1- Odd shaped bottle. This bottle is a rectangular cube shape, so the brush handle is a bit bulky to hold steadily.

#2- Uneven application on lighter colors. The Lavender went on nice and smooth with two coats. The green, however, took a bit more work. 3 coats and still a bit uneven.

#3- Don't have shade names. These guys do not have names!!! Gahhh! So frustrating! So, when someone says 'I love your nail shade!', Im all like, 'thanks! It's the lavender looking on at Urban Planet'. This is super annoying.

So, beside a few minor, and I do mean trivially minor, flaws, I would say this polish is awesome and surprisingly good. I would say for the $2.80, these are a steal. Go get them now!

Until next time...

Herbal Essence Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo Review + ANNOUNCEMENT ♥

Hello Everyone,

I know I have been in hiding for a while but my computer bit the dust and I have been using my Mom's laptop until I can afford a new one. This computer is hella slow and it kind of makes me nuts. But none the less, here I am with a quick review of the Herbal Essence Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo. I purchased this on  a pure whim as I was browsing target and I really wanted to try it. It was on sale for $2.50 (Retails for $3.99 CAD) and I thought that was an amazing price for a dry shampoo. They did stock several varieties of this product but I settled on the Color Me Happy scent because I love that signature Herbal Essence rose scent. I gotta be honest in saying that I was not expecting much from this dry shampoo. I mean it was $2.50! I have spent upwards of $10 for a dry shampoo and not been satisfied. So, what did I think? Ok, so this product does give off a white cast on my black hair if it is sprayed too close to the head, however, given ample space between the head and nozzle, this product works like a charm. It absorbs all the oils nicely and ofcourse gives my hair a fresh clean and rosy scent. I would say that is product is defiantly worth the $3.99 (regular Price) and I will absolutely be repurchasing this product. This is my new holy grail dry shampoo and it will not hit this Pretty Paupers wallet hard. I say, if you are not picky about your dry shampoos then this is a defiant money saver!

Poo~Pourri Review ♥

Hello Beautiful People,

Today we are going to talk ab out something that everybody does but will never admit or talk about, POOP! That's right, poop. If you happening to live in some sort of bubble and have somehow missed the Poo-pouri craze that started with a silly and almost unbelievable Youtube advert, Poo-pouri is a bathroom spray. They claim is that you spray this essecial oil laced spray in the toilet before doing your business and it is supposed to contain the unpleasent aroma that comes along with relieving yourself. I have seen this at several Chapters/Indigo stores and finally caved and bought one. I really wanted to test the theory behind this unique and unothadox product. So, are you ready to hear my thoughts?

So this spray comes in a wide variety of scents for Men and Women. These come in a 20oz. bottle and they run for around $10 CAD. The locations that I have been to and seen these only have about 4 different scents. If you order from the site there is a plethera of different scents. I ended up getting the scent ' Royal Flush' which, according to the site, is a scent for Men. I do not feel like the scent has a manly ador but rather just smells like a mix of esscial oils.

I guess the question you are all asking is, does it work? Well, the short of it is, Yes! I won't into too much detail for fear of getting gross but it does work very well. My family has trusted in the power of essecial oils for years now and I firmly believe that is the secret behind the power of this product. I say it is worth the $10 and I forgot to mention, you get about 100 uses out of one bottle.

Extra tidbit. Poo~Pourri favorited my tweet!

Finally caved and bought poo-pourri, merely out of sheer intrigue. I'll keep u posted #poopourri

Have you guys used Poo~Pourri? Let me know what you thought below!

Until next time...

Physicians Formula Super CC+ Powder ♥

Hello Beautiful People,

Here I am yet again with a review. Today's review is all about the new physicians formula CC powder. I will be honest in saying that I don't typically buy PF because I find it a little expensive for my taste. I have purchased a few products but not many. When I saw this new line of products I was very attracted to the packaging, I am such a sucker for pretty marketing. These products sport a stark white casing with silver and hot pink detailing. This line also includes a CC cream and a concealer.

Hello Beautiful People and welcome to the first edition of Battle of the Brands-rands-ands-nds (my sad attempt at an echo). Beauty Haul 01/16/14 ♥

Hello Beautiful People,

Hope everyone a fantastic week and are ready to head into the weekend. I know I am...phew! So in light of 'payday' and since I haven't treated myself in a while, I decided to go shopping. I was planning on buying clothing but couldn't find much of anything so I settled for some makeup I have been wanting for a while. I was going to film a video but since my editing program is being douchy, I decided to just blog it. So, here is my little beauty haul.

Hello Beautiful People,

As the winter continues I hope to see more beauty products hitting the shelves for Spring and all the spring fashion hitting the rails. Anyways, I was looking a post I did a few months back on what was coming up on the blog. I made a few empty promises about some reviews. So here we are with one of the reviews I promised, the Revlon Matte Balms.

Lush Cupcake Fresh Mask Review ♥

Hello Beautiful People,

I was sitting around thinking about how I needed to write a post for you guys and I thought I would write a review on one of my new addictions, the Lush Cupcake Mask. So, shall we....

First off, lets discuss the claims of this mask. This is a mask specially designed for oily, acne prone skin (in store they describe it as 'Teenaged Skin'). This mask contains, spearmint oil, vanilla absolute, Rhassoul mud and cocoa. This mask claims to calm, deep clean and prevent acne.

Don't let the name of this mask fool you my friends. It does not smell ANYTHING like a cupcake. As this mask gets older, it actually smells worse. I think the smell is vomit-worthy in my opinion. This is a fresh mask which means it is made on premises, which means, it needs to stay refrigerated and it expires after 14 mere days. This mask is available in a 60g tub for around $7 CAD.

So, was the smell and the fact that it expires worth it? Yes, yes and YES! I have horrible skin, I have large pores, acne scaring, acne and it freaks on me 80% of the time. For the first time EVER in my life, I have been told I have nice skin. This is a miracle! I actually looked back in shock at the first person who told me this. I had to do a circle check to make sure there wasn't someone else behind me. This stuff cleared up my acne and reduced my redness. I felt super confident with this product in my fridge. I did use this product after expiry and I will be honest in saying that the smell got 10x worse and the product lost effectiveness. This 60g tub looked small but I had more than enough left after 2 weeks.  I will most defiantly be repurchasing this product. I think it is worth every penny and if you suffer from acne then this is the mask for you!

I say go buy this and if you do not have oily or acne prone skin then pick up another fresh mask from Lush :)

Until next time...

Real Techniques Brush Review ♥

Hello Beauties,

So, I just bought the Real Techniques Core Base Brush set and I thought I would a review for you guys. I purchased the core eye set a while back and I was obsessed. My mom also purchased the Core face set as well which she loves. So let's get on with it.
First off, if you aren't familiar with the Real Techniques brushes, they are a makeup brush line designed by Samantha Chapman (of Youtube's Pixiwoo). If you aren't familiar with Samantha Chapman, she a makeup artist based in the UK. Her and her sister Nic have a youtube channel entitled Pixiwoo and they do makeup tutorials for pro's and armatures alike.

The biggest thing about these brushes that I LOVE is how affordable they are. The core kits are a mere $18 CAD at Walmart. Considering that these brushes are some seriously good quality that is an amazing deal. I have a few Sephora brushes and none of them are as good as these bad boys. I was thrilled to find that these guys were even sold in Canada considering that Canada sucks when it comes to new beauty products. We usually get them months after the US gets them. Anyways, I was excited to see them a few months ago and ofcourse I needed a set.

So, How do I feel about them? These brushes are beyond affordable considering that professional brushes usually go for about $30 to start. They do sport synthetic bristles but they apply beautifly, ALSO when washed, they dry quickly and hold their shape. So far, I really love the Domed Shadow Brush. It applies shadow beautifly on the lid, brow bone and crease.

I also really like the Buffing Brush and Contour Brush. The Buffing Brush works great with foundations to help give a flawless finish to the skin without streaking. The bristles are nice and densely packed for getting your foundation melted into the skin nicely.  The Contouring Brush is awesome for exactly what the name implies, Contouring! The brush is small and dome shaped and when I say small I don't mean minuscule. I mean small enough to get under those cheek bones and along that jawline without looking like you rubbed dirt on your face. It really helps get that precise contouring down pat.

Another really awesome brush is the Deluxe Crease Brush. I am not going to lie, this was probably the brush I was most excited about. Even though this brush is technically a shadow brush, the Pixiwoo girls use this brush for a variety of things, one of which being buffing in concealer. When doing so, this brush give a great finish to the concealer and really buffs everything in nicely.

So are these brushes worth it? If you read through this review...then I shouldn't have to say this again...but I will. YESSS! They are worth every penny, I think they may even be worth more. I don't know why these Pixiwoo girls have short changed themselves with these awesome brushes but i hope they don't change. They are an affordable option for all you Pretty Paupers out there!

If you have any questions about these brushes or want to know about each one individually let me know below!

Until Next Time...

Tuesday Review: Physicians Formula FakeOut Mascara

Hello Beautiful People,

I hope you all had a great day today and are all ready to step into Wednesday. I know I am! This week is getting exhausting. Anyways, for today's review we are talking about Physicians Formula Organic Wear FakeOut Mascara. That was a mouth-full, try saying that 10 times fast...

I picked this up about 3 months ago when I had a major car fire that totaled my car (obviously!). I was feeling really washed up and decided to treat myself to something. This was the one drugstore mascara I had hear lots of good thing about but never wanted to spend the $18 for it. I decided to splurge and get it anyways because I was feeling so sad. So here are my thoughts...

This mascara comes in a .26 oz Hot metallic pink tube. The brush is very thick and sport shorter bristles on the ends and they gradually get longer as you move toward the middle. This mascara has a ton of promises. This mascara claims to be the first ever mascara to have 100% natural origin lash extension fibers that claim to provide length and volume without the irritation of traditional fiber mascaras. Promised 100% natural origin ingredients, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens-wearers.

When I first used this mascara I noticed a difference right away! The lash fibers did really lengthen and volumize my lashes. The large brush really swept across my lashes with ease. After the day progressed I noticed that when I touched my eyelash while itchy my eye or whatever, the mascara was still wet. I also noticed that it did get on my lids because it wasn't dry as well. That was the one thing I really didn't like.

Overall, this mascara is good. I would, however suggest, pairing this with another mascara or sealing it with a waterproof mascara for the simple reason that it does not dry! I think it has something to do with the organics of the ingredients. Now, the price point is a little high for a mascara that does not dry. It runs for about $18 CAD. I will probably not repurchase this mascara. :(

So, that's it ladies and gents! I hope you enjoyed this review and I look forward to posting on Thursday.

I want to know, have you tried this mascara? What did you like? What did you hate? Will you purchase this product? Let me know below!

Until Next Time...

Review Tuesday: Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily skin

Hello Makeup Lovers,

First of all, I wanted to take a moment to say that I am sorry that I did not post my fashion post on Saturday but I just had so much going on this weekend and my special guest was feeling under the weather. But I will be posting a fashion post this weekend for sure. Anyways, onto the review for today. Today's review is for the Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combo/oily skin. So let's begin, shall we?

The Product

This product promises to provide 24 hours of lightweight coverage and comes in 8 shades. It is oil-free and provides medium to full coverage. This 1.0 oz bottle of product give SPF 6 coverage and runs for about $18 CAD.

My version of the Product

I purchased the shade 110 Ivory.

What I liked about the product

I have been on the hunt for a long-wearing foundation for a long time. I am a face sweater and my foundation wears off very quickly. The first time I used this foundation, I was floored by the lasting power of this foundation. I did not use a primer and it lasted me from 10 am until 11pm that night and my foundation looked great. This was after a day of working and then an evening of dancing. This foundation is extremely long-wearing. It does not oxidize and go darker on your skin tone. It is comfortable to wear and covers almost anything. I have bad acne scars and this covered them all. I sometimes do not even need concealer.

What I didn't like about it

This foundation is awesome but there are a few pitfalls with it too. It is a very sticky product that needs to be set. I also noticed that it is a bit harder to get off the skin because it adheres so well.

How I apply it

First things first when it comes to any foundation routine, moisturize. This will help the makeup to apply flawlessly. I have tried a few application techniques but my favorite so far has been a damp egg sponge, you can pick these up at shoppers drug mart or sephora. Because of this foundations sticky nature, I always set it with a powder or setting spray.

My final word on this product is...I am in love! It a great, long-wearing and flawless foundation. I recommend it to everyone. Go buy it now!!!!

Keep you eyes peeled for a new tip/tutorial post this Thursday and a hot new fashion post on Saturday! Also, for updates, follow me on all of my social networks, which are linked on the left side.

I want to know, have you tried the Revlon Colorstay foundation? What did you like? What did you hate? Will you re-purchase? Let me know below!

Review: Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes

Well Lovlies, I am back!!!

The Pretty Pauper is rested and ready to take the blogging world by storm. I really enjoyed my few weeks off from the blog as it gave me an opportunity to catch up on other things in life. I had some family visiting for a weekend and then we went car shopping and I got back from a friends cottage last Thursday, so life has been good to me and I can't complain. But now I am back and I have some awesome stuff on the horizon but let's start off with a review, you know, since it's review Tuesday.

Today, I am going to give you a review on the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes mascara.I will be honest in saying that I had this sitting in my drawer for a few months before I actually got into it. But I decided to give it another whirl and here is what I thought...

The Packaging and Product

The 'Claw' Brush
This mascara comes in a yellow tube with Goldy-orange lettering and leopard prints on the lid. When you take out the brush, it appears with a length-wise curve. The formula appears thinner than most mascaras. The smell was interesting to say the least. I don't even know how to describe the smell. This may sound weird but do you ever have someone sneeze next to you and you get a whiff of a random smell? That smell is what the mascara has. HA HA! You probably think I'm crazy but you need to smell it to understand. This product runs for about $7 CAD at Walmart.

The Promise

This product promises a black full lash with flared edges. It claims to have a collagen formula that gives up to 8x the volume in one swift stroke. It also claims that the 'claw' brush ( so that's what it's called eh?) helps to flair the corners for that cat eye look. It claims that for the best results, you need to apply from root to tip with one coat and remove with soap and water.

My First Impression

When I first tried this mascara I wondered what the rave was about. I didn't find it gave me the cat eye look at all. The formula was too thin to build and I didn't find that the 'claw' brush made a difference. Needless to say, I shoved this one away quickly.

My Second Attempt

Months later I dug this bad boy out in hopes of my falling in love. I felt bad with it just sitting there in my draw collecting dust when I had paid money for it. I used it for a few days but I didn't notice the greatness until I applied it without any other eye makeup. I noticed that it looked like I was wearing false eye lashes although, I would not call this a one-coat wonder. I usually get by with about 3 coats. The formula was super black and i actually really liked the brush. It didn't flake and it looked great after an 8-hour shift!

So, lets sum it up with a round of Pro's and Cons...

Before Application

Pro's

  • The claw brush does extend corner lashes
  • Good price
  • Gives the false lash look
  • Super Black formula
  • Not much flaking

Con's

  • The smell is interesting
  • Need more than the one coat promised
After 3 coats

So there it is Ladies and Lads! I hope you enjoyed this Tuesday review. Keep in mind that EVERY Tuesday, I will be posting a new review, so stay up to date by liking me on Facebook @ The Pretty Pauper on Facebook . Also, stay tuned for my Tips/Tutorial Thursdays and Fashion Saturday's!

I want to know, have you tried this mascara? What did you love? What did you hate? Would you purchase again? Is there something better? Let me know below and thank you all for reading my Lovlies!!!!

Review: Maybelline Color Vivids and a Bittersweet Announcement!

Hey Everyone,
The Pretty Pauper here! Hope you all had  fantastic weekend and are now enjoying this Monday. I don't know how you all spent your Sunday evenings but I spent most of the night reading tweets after tweet about the MTV awards. Man! So much drama and scandal packed into one room. Ha! Well, all drama aside, the stars had some pretty awesome looks tonight which I am always interested in. Now, on to the review!

Today, I am giving you a review on a product i have been using and loving for a while now. It's the Maybelline Color Vivids Lipstick.

Product Summary
These bright shades claim to offer bright opaque color that last all day. The vivids line come in 8 shades and offer a honey nectar formula that claims to soften lips and keep them hydrated. They come in an orange tube and have a color swatch and name on the bottom. They run for about $9 at any drugstore that carry Maybelline.

The Application
The application is pretty normal. No special instructions are stated so I just applied like normal. I noticed the color instantly and on swipe applied a bright, pigmented shade.

The Lasting Power
These bad boys stick well. I did re-apply a few times through out they day when the center or my lips would fade but that was just me being picky. I would say these guys last a good amount of time but they will leave residue on cups or food. These are not a stain so they don't dry out the lips either.

The Final Word
I love them! These super pigmented shades are now a staple in my makeup collection and really surprised me. They last a long time, the color payoff is good and they come in a variety of fun shades. I look forward to re-purchasing and purchasing other colors in this line! Go get them now!!!

From the Left: Haute Plum, Pink Pop and shocking Coral

So that's it guys! I know this is a short, to the point review but I wanted to give you guys something to chew on. Now, onto the announcement.

As you know, life can get crazy and that seems to be whats going on here these days. Between work and plans and family, something always gets tossed on the back burner. I have been so busy and my life has been insane! The next few weeks is going to be crazy crazy CRAZY. I have so much to catch up on and I need to take a break. SO, The Pretty Pauper is going on hiatus. I love you all to bits and I will be back within the next few weeks. I am unsure of a date but I will keep you informed and posted. You can follow my twitter for updates or even check out my instagram which are all linked on this home page. When I get back I will be back with full force. I am hoping to have more posts throughout the week and more youtube videos up soon too. My video editing program is giving me technical difficulties and it will take me time to figure those out too. But stay tuned for that. I have an interview with an up-and-coming makeup artist coming your way when I get back as well as a HUGE review on my new Lime Crime Velvetine!!! So stay tuned for that!

I want to take a moment to thank all my loyal readers and members. I love you all and appreciate all your support. I will be back full throttle soon, all I need is some time to re-coup and deal with the craziness!

So, that's about if folks! Please stay tuned. I also want to know....when

2-for-1 Review: Maybelline instant Age Rewind Eraser and L'Oreal True Match Bleandable Foundation

Hey Dolls! First off I want to apologize for my absence over the last couple weeks. I was trying to stay regular (sounds like I am eating my fiber ;) with my blog post and I failed you all!!! So Sorry. But I was notified 3 weeks ago that I had to move into a smaller house so I had 3 weeks to pack up 23 years of life. So between that and my car blowing up about a month ago life has been crazy.  But you will be happy to know that I am getting back to normal life now and ready to blog some beauty stuff for y'all! Since I have kept all my loyal readers waiting, I am giving you a 2-for-1 Review. Yay!! I thought I'd let you know, as I write this, I am watching West Side Story. So, if I happen to use 'gang' language, you'll know why. Anyways, on to the review! I am giving you a review on the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Foundation and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Corrector and Treatment. First of all, Let's start with the foundation.

If you follow me on Youtube, you know I am a loyal fan of the Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation but I needed to try something new. My co-worker and future make-up artist gave me a suggestion of this drugstore foundation and I decided to give it a try. The L'Oreal True Match comes in a cute little 30 ml. bottle and runs for about $12 CAD. The bottle is reminiscent of a magic potion bottle which I thought was adorbs! I purchased the shade C2-Natural Ivory for my pale complexion. The bottle claims that the foundation is a super bendable and gives full coverage. It also claims to blend evenly with your skin tone. The product contains no oil which is perfect for my oily acne-prone skin. It also come in 23 shades and come in warm and cool tones.

My first impression on the foundation was that it was super runny and it had a normal foundation smell. After applying it, I quickly learned that a little goes a looooooong way. Because it's so blendable, you can get away with alot less. The coverage is great and it covered all my acne scaring and hyper pigmentation. But being a full coverage foundation, it didn't feel heavy or thick. I find with my 3-in-1 foundation, I would get alot of build up around my upper lip and I used to think it was clinging to my dry skin but even after exfoliation, i still had it. With this makeup, I didn't have that at all!!!

The staying power was good! I took a picture in the morning and after unpacking some boxes and sweating alot, I still looked decent. Please excuse my no makeup look,  but I felt that since I was just reviewing the foundation and concealer, I didn't need to get all dolled up. Overall, I am impressed with this foundation and look forward to using it more!

Now, on to the concealer! The Instant Age Rewind Eraser for Dark Spots come is a tube and has a little hairy sponge on the top where the product flows from. You twist it and the product flows out. It runs for about $10. I purchased the shade 215 Light.

When I applied it seemed a little light and I wasn't sure how I felt about the coverage and it seemed like an okay coverage. For the sake of the review, I will be honest and say that I wasn't super impressed.

The staying power was okay but not super impressive. Overall, this eraser kind of disappointed me! Below is a before and after picture of the two products together.

Just Applied
After 5 hours

As you can see, the over all look is okay considering I was melting all day but you can see my scars and hyper pigmentation peeping through. I would defiantly buy the foundation again but I'm still not convinced about the eraser yet! I will continue to use it though.

So, there it is Lovelies. Your very own 2-in-1 Review. I hope you enjoyed and please tell me, have you tried either of the products mentioned? How do you feel about the foundation? What about the eraser? Any tips on how to apply them? The floor is yours. Thanks for reading!

OCC Lip Tars - Review

Hey everyone.

Welcome to Monday! Ick! Monday...the beginning again and we now have a whole 5 days to go again until we have another weekend. But anyways, did you all see my new Youtube video about my states side shopping trip? If you did, you would have seen that I purchased my second Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar. In light of my new purchase I have decided to do a review on the product just for you guys! So, if you want to know how I feel about these tiny tubes, then keep reading.

Appearance

Like I said, these are tiny little .33 oz tubes that will fit anywhere. They have bold fun lettering and they come in a plastic zip back with a tiny lip brush for application.

The Product

The product is very liquid and fluid. I usually pour out way more than I need to cover my lips. The brush it comes with is flexible and not stiff and helps make application way easier. They come in a whopping 42 shades (many can only be ordered online) and are Paraben free. Oh, they are also 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Which is awesome! :)
Divine- A Corally Pink

Application

Like I said, I usually pour out way more than I need. With this product, a little goes a long way. I EOS, first to help the product glide on better. The product can be build by applying more after the first coat sets.
usually get more than enough by just applying a tiny dot on my hand. This product does have a dryness about it so I recommend using a non-greasy lip balm, like the brand

Longevity

The lip tars are long wearing but that can depend on what you are doing through out the day. If you drink 45 cups of coffee through out the day, the color may not last as long as you want. I usually get it to last for a good 4-5 hours. The line does offer a clear primer that can be purchased separately that claims to help the longevity of the product. I am unsure on whether or not it works though.

Pretty Boy- A super hot fushia
Final Word

Overall, I really enjoy these products! The color is good, the staying power is good and I like how little is needed to get the job done. They cost about $18 CAD in Sephora but considering how little you need, I feel like it's worth the money. This is defiantly a splurge but I will buy it again!

I want to know, have you tried these little guys? And if so, how do you feel about them? Do you have the primer and does it make a difference? Should I invest in it?

Thanks for reading everyone!! And please don't forget to subscribe my Youtube channel and to share this on facebook!!! Also, like it up on FB as well.

Love you all and have a fantastic week!!! :D

Maybelline Color Tattoos- Review

Been a long time, I know and I am sorry to all my loyal readers but I have just been uber crazy busy lately and haven't had time to sit down and write a post in a while. I have done a ton of videos over the last little while and if your interested in seeing them, visit my youtube channel, The Pretty Pauper on Youtube.

Anywho, I'm here to give you an honest-to-goodness review of some of my new favorite products, the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows. These bad-boys come in a variety of colors and the claim to last for 24 hours. But do they? Well, keep reading to find out.

Colors
35- Tough As Taupe
These cream shadows come in about 10 or so different shades. I had heard good things and was looking for an everyday shadow that would give me that 'I tried' look for work. The first one I picked up was the shade 35-Tough as Taupe. The color is some what of a browny-purple shade and looks great with a black gel liner layered on top.

20- Painted Purple
This next color I purchased what more so of a trend buy. I first saw it on Leighton Meester on gossip girl. It was a vibrant purple shadow with no liner and big lashes. I loved this look and decided that this would be the shadow to do it! The shade is 20-Painted Purple.

55-Inked in Pink
The next shade is a pretty metallic shade that looks great with an intense black liner. The shade is 55-Inked in Pink.

The final and most recent color I have purchased is 50-Pomegranate Punk. This shade a dark lightly frosted brick color.
50- Pomegranate Punk

Application
The color pay off for this guys are not bad, some better than others. Out of all four the best pay off comes from shade 35-Tough as Taupe. The color makes a great everyday shadow. These also blend really well. I usually apply using a flat shadow brush to my lids and use a fluffy crease brush to blend out. This is usually super easy and I apply all four in this manner.

Price
These can range from $6-$8 depending on where you go. I picked them up at Walmart for $6.49.

Worth the Hype
Heck Yes!!! I am so in love with these guys. They are super easy to apply and they help my makeup stick better. They also prevent that horrible gel eyeliner lid line. I wouldn't say they last for 24 hours but they defiantly last my whole work day. They are creamy, vibrant and are easy to apply.

All in all, I give these guys an A+!!! Go out and get them.

Thank you all for reading and don't forget, like my up on facebook and follow me on Instagram!!! Also, please take a moment to subscribe on Youtube for tutorials, favorites and hauls.

Love You all!!!

My ClearlyContacts.ca Experience-Review

Hey Dolls,

My First Free Pair of Glasses

I am going to write a short review of this amazing website called Clearly Contacts. First off, I would like to say, I am not in anyway affiliated with the company Clearly Contacts. This is based upon my personal experience with the company. Now that, that is said and done, let's move on. I work a very part-time retail job and have absolutely no benefits which leaves me with cavities and no eye glass coverage either. I needed a new pair of glasses for sometime and decided to give Clearly Contacts a try. I had seen many commercials and it seemed too good to be true. There main claim was 'First Pair Free'. This ofcourse would seem like a scam but to my surprise after searching through a wide array of glasses both designer and generic, I found that after entering a special code that my frames and lenses were deducted from my bills. This left me with a $14 shipping and handling fee. I couldn't have been more thrilled. Let me explain a few more details before you jump on this site right now! First thing is first, most optical retails shops sell frames and lenses at a separate cost. Clearly Contacts includes the price of basic lenses in your total bill. The only time you pay extra for lenses if you choose specialty lenses, for instances, anti-glare or transitions. I personally just took the basics.

I loved the selection of classes I saw. There was page after page and they have even more recently added Ray Bands to their line up. Pretty impressive if you ask little ol' moi. My favorite brand thus far has been a brand called 'Love'. Almost all their frames feature cute little hearts on the frames. Super cute and I have purchased two pairs so far.

The ordering process is pretty general  but one thing got me. Most optometrist have no probably giving you a copy of your prescription but as a rule they do not give you a PD reading (pupil distance). This is something needed to get glasses so you must calculate it on your own. The website does feature a how-to video and I found Youtube pretty helpful as well. This would be my only con as it was a little complicated.

I have purchased two pairs of glasses since I first found out about this site and my first pair was indeed free (except shipping and handling) and my second pair was on sale for $38. I suggest signing up for their emails because they always have some great deals going on. (On Valentines Day, all the Love brand glasses were a mere $14!!!)

Alright, you can go get your free pair now...:) Your Welcome!

Please tell me about your experiences with Clearly Contacts!!! I would love to hear whether you loved it as much as I did.

Thanx for reading
