Mane 'n' Tail Shampoo

OK, so I know I just did a review like...yesterday, but I was talking with my niece today and she wants to grow her hair and I told her to try mane 'n' tail shampoo. She told me that her mom (my sister and hairdresser) had told her that mane 'n' tail shampoo is not good shampoo and discouraged use. So, I had to post a review. I am here to tell you that Sally's sell out of this stuff like it's going out of style. When I recommend it to skeptical customers they end up coming back for more or sending friends to give it a try. I don't think once that I have had a customer come back saying they didn't like it or that they wanted to return it. I usually get rave reviews.

Now, I personally use this product and I usually alternate between this one and bed head. Before I began using it, I was one of those skeptical customers who thought it was going to dry out my hair or that it was just a fad. My hair was dried and fried, I had bleached the crap out of it and it was cut into a pixie faux hawk at the time. I loved the hawk but really missed the good ol' days when I had long luscious locks and decided to grow it out. Let me tell you, that was no easy task. I'm sure alot of you readers can relate. You fry your hair to the point it stops growing? I can see you all shaking your heads. I had tried almost every product in the store and suddenly I came face-to-face with mane 'n' Tail. Do I try it? I looked at the price and at around $7 for a liter, I couldn't say no. I thought, 'what do I have to lose? My hair is as bad as it's going to get'. The first day I washed with it, I noticed a difference. My hair was easy to get through and something about it just felt healthier. My co-workers noticed a big difference in my hair. Now, alot of people claim that mane 'n' tail causes your hair to grow faster, it is true? Well, I wish I could say yes for certain but I can't. I feel like my hair did grow alot faster and my co-workers even noticed that it grew significantly. Whether or not it makes your hair grow faster isn't for certain. I think that is just really strengthens the hair which prevents it from breaking as easily. But I'll leave it up to you to decided whether is makes your hair grow faster or not.

One thing I think I would suggest is making sure your using a really good conditioner with it. If you use any shampoo without conditioner, your hair will end up straw-like. Conditioner is a very important step in making sure your hair stays healthy.

In other news, I did my nails yesterday and I have to say that I'm kind of in love with this manicure. It's called the Robin's Egg manicure and I got the idea off of a website called The Beauty Department . I can't stop looking at my nails! Here are some pics.

I used China Glaze- For Audrey with a Sally Girl gold sparkle. So simple, yet so chic. :)

Anyways, I'm out.

So Gorgeous Dry Shampoo Review

Hey Beauty Queens,

It's Saturday night I have no plans for the evening. I wish I had some excited escapades to relate but life has been pretty dull the last little while. Life sometimes hits a dull moment and you have to find something to make your life exciting. Right now the only excitement I have had is pinning on pinterest. He He! That website is so addicting, it's like creative crack. I am pretty much in love. So far, I have turned my flared jeans into skinny jeans and an old t-shirt into a tank top. There are a ton of other projects I want to try but just need to find an empty day to fill with creative juices. Sometimes, when looking on pinterest, I wonder why we bother spending money on these things that you could easily make on your own for half the cost. It's actually pretty crazy.

Sorry for the rambling, I just needed to throw that out there. Anyways, on to my review. About a week ago I received a sample of a new dry shampoo from work called SO gorgeous - volume renewing dry shampoo. The name So Gorgeous is a comparable version of Big Sexy Hair. The deep cherry red bottle spells va-va-voom but did the product deliver the va-va or the voom? Well, let me explain first about what the product claims to achieve. The claim is: A clear, non-powdery, volumizing dry shampoo that will help absorb excess oil and deliver a clean scent. One thing I think I need to clear up about dry shampoo is that it DOES NOT replace your daily, bi-daily or weekly shampooing. I view it as a clean illusion for those moments when you don't have time to shower and your just about the run out the door. A quick spritz helps to absorb the oils and make the hair look clean or at the very least not greasy. It's a good summer beauty product because when you sweat your oil glands tend to let loose causing the scalp to get greasy faster. Another really good use for dry shampoo is to help prolong hair color vibrancy. When I had red hair, I used dry shampoo to avoid having to wash my hair as often. Red is the kind of color that loses vibrancy quickly so, the more you wash the more you lose the color. But I did not replace washing my hair with dry shampoo, if my hair was dirty, I would wash it. But it helped me get away with "greasy" hair longer.

Anywho, so the first time I used the dry shampoo I noticed one thing right off the bat. First, let's have a flashback to when I said their claim was that it was clear and non-powdery. You can imagine my disappointment when it was NOT clear. I sprayed it and suddenly, I had white hair. Even spraying from a distance didn't change the fact that my hair was snow white (exaggeration).

That being said, this dry shampoo did everything a dry shampoo should do. It absorbed the oils and left my hair in berry scented bliss. I think the one suggestion I would have would be to take out your blow dryer and cold shot your hair on a low setting to disperse the white powder. Other than that, I love this dry shampoo and know that you will too. You can pick it up, along with tons of other dry shampoos, at your local Sally Beauty Supply.

Now, do you have any dry shampoos that you swear by? Maybe one's with better scents? Or ones that fulfill their every claim? Hit up the comments and let me know.

Coming up...

Hey everyone,

Happy Hump day! Yes, it's wednesday and that means we are almost over that hump. I am getting over more than that little hump we call Wednesday. I am trying to climb over a mountain right now. So my posts will be few and far between. On the upside, I did buy some new products today and I am dying to try them and then tell you all about them. Look forward to reviews on a new dry shampoo and a sunscreen for your hair (huh...). Have a fantastic weekend and talk soon.

Love,

Sarah

Sidenote: Cure for the summertime blues

Hey Beach babes,

Well it's Friday ladies and that means the weekend is at our fingertips. That could spell BBQ with the family, shopping, cleaning and for some it could mean going to the beach. Isn't it lovely to lay out your towel in the warm sand and just laying there doing absolutely nothing? How can you be blue when you just get to soak up the sun all day? Sometimes life has you down and you just need to do something for yourself. For some of us who may not get a chance to go the beach this weekend and have to work, the summer can be cruel. To brighten up a Beauty Queens mood all you need to give her is some bright polish. In light of this conversation I went out and bought a new China glaze color from the 'Summer Neon' collection called 'Flirty Tankini'. It's a really fun pink with a pearly look to it. I fell madly in love when I saw it. Here are a few pics of my nails:

The pics make the color look orange but it is defiantly pink! :P You can pick this color and a ton of others at Sally Beauty Supply. Happy June everyone and have a great weekend!

Love,
Sarah
